Simone Johnson: Leaving WWE, and Her Future in Wrestling (2026)

The departure of Simone Johnson, better known as Ava in the WWE, has sparked curiosity and speculation. As the daughter of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, her exit from the wrestling world was always going to be newsworthy. However, her recent comments on a podcast shed light on her reasons for leaving and her future plans.

In an interview with comedian Gianmarco Soresi on his podcast The Downside, Johnson revealed that her decision to leave WWE was not solely due to one specific incident. Instead, it was a culmination of various factors that had been weighing on her mind for a while. She expressed gratitude for her time at WWE, describing it as a dream come true.

"It wasn't one particular thing," she said. "It was a lot of things and had been something that was on my mind for a while. I am so grateful for my time at WWE. I wouldn't change it for the world. I got to live out the dream that [younger] me always wanted to." But it was time for something new and different, and she doesn't regret her decision.

Johnson's current focus is on her work with her mother, Dany Garcia, who runs management and clothing companies. She seems content with her new endeavors and is not planning a return to WWE or professional wrestling. However, she is not completely stepping away from the public eye.

"I think to a certain degree, but I do feel like so much of my life was public for so long," she said. "I’m not sure if I would want to participate in entertainment in the scale that I did when I was at WWE. But I feel like I love the outlet that I have now of being able to like make cute travel vlogs and do that. Because obviously it’s still public and being here [on the podcast] is still public, but it’s just not to the same degree [as] at WWE."

Johnson and her partner, Tatyanna Dumas, have an Instagram account where they share vlogs and other content. This new direction allows her to maintain a level of public engagement while exploring different interests and hobbies.

The interview provides insight into Johnson's decision-making process and her desire for personal growth and change. It also highlights the challenges of maintaining a public image and the importance of pursuing new opportunities. As she navigates her post-WWE life, Johnson's journey serves as a reminder that sometimes, stepping away from the spotlight can lead to a more fulfilling and authentic existence.
