The dispute began when 34 Rockstar employees were fired for allegedly leaking game features and information about upcoming titles, including GTA 6, on Discord. Rockstar claims these leaks could have significant implications for the gaming industry and the company's financial performance. The workers, however, argue that their dismissal was due to their efforts to unionize, which is a fundamental right for workers.
Jack Hoxby, a fired IWGB member, emphasizes the importance of not boycotting the game but instead supporting the workers' fight for justice. He believes that buying the union-branded T-shirts is a more effective way to show solidarity and hold Rockstar accountable. This approach allows fans to enjoy the game while actively participating in the workers' struggle for better working conditions and rights.
